Best in Us

I remember the time when I pondered on all the scoldings of my mother to me and how I wished it never happened. Even when saying sorry wasn't enough, I paid the faults I made dearly. After last week's typhoon, it made me realize that it wasn't punishment brought by God just because of anger for our sins, but like a mother who spanks her small children in order for them to grow and walk to the right path, and for a future that only God knows. Like gold, it needs to undergo fiery blazes to melt the impure metals and refine it to pure gold. It is not just material things; it's also deep within us that gold will be purified. A heart that God already owns and giving his part to us. It is His gift.

Today, I believe that these are just painful lessons that must be taught for our sake, for in everything there is a purpose, a love that was lost waiting to be found.
