Cemetery Market
Every year, my family go to Cavite cemetery to observe our national holiday- All Saints Day on Nov.1. But today, it seems that only us three (mom, dad, and I) are left to visit once a year to this occasion. Even while I'm writing this, I can almost feel and see what the scene would look like: traffic, peddlers, fly-by night eateries in tents, stores, for sale candles, 5 peso comfort rooms plus VAT (which causes lines straight to heaven), beauties, machos, nachos, gigglers, pusoy dos, bets, etc. and etc (usually, those things we see in malls and red districts). As if they turned the whole thing into some sort of a flea market, without the flea (I may be mistaken).
Now, I'm confused! Is it All Saints Day or Halloween? Here we celebrate both if one day isn't enough. Thankfully, in be-half of the people here in Manila, classes were suspended because of the typhoon (which I never felt), and gave our students another day to spend the week and the holiday another summer break. OHIT-PHI!
