Spending Less, Giving More

We don't have money. How are we going to live in this world when we
need money to survive? I, myself began spending less and saving more, at
least, and I have a family that supports me. In this case, it is not money
that we need to survive but others.

I live in a computer world where I spend my life in technology.
Even people in our neighborhood are fighting between operating systems
in their computers and mine. Why do they care about what is installed
in my PC when it is MY system. I even spent bundles for it just for me to
mind my own business.

Nowadays, we can't ignore the fact that economy is spiraling
downwards. Not only here in our country, but worldwide. People spent
other people's money to buy things they don't really need and suffer
eventually for it. The money the US spent (that was half-trillion dollars),
is just I guess buying time. Here, in my world I live in, I'm seeing changes
happening around me: Free software, companies looking at alternatives to
lessen IT costs, or delaying purchases, or acquiring GPL licenses for
their programs to further development, etc. These are not my doing, but
what surrounds me, and this is reality. In the software world, there is
such thing as “free.” Not only free in terms of source code but you can
install it for free, at no cost and it is legal. What I am trying to say
is there are those people who give their time, money, effort for us people
who cannot afford to buy and I think in their small way, they are making a
difference. If those people can do it, why can't we.
