Human Race

As you can see, I am officially a member of YouTube because of this video clip I made the year before last. Anyway, prior to this, I saw a clip of a chemist explaining the creationist side of things. As you are familiar, there were some rambles, debates regarding promoting creationism in schools as a subject, side by side with the teachings of evolution in the US. Lawmakers are disagreeing with some of the foundations of teaching science with explanations relating to religion, specifically Christian faith. So, here I found this man explaining creationism in the eyes of the truth said in the bible. Of course, as I blogged before and warned by the scriptures that we must be careful on things we put in our head or things that we listen to, for people will come to derail the truth and promote lies and even lead blind people to fall in the same ditch.

In his conferences, he tries to explain where do different races come from since we know that there are blacks, whites, yellow ones and even browns. In the bible, it is said that Eve was the mother of all living, and with that fact, we must conclude that every colors and every hue in people's color actually came from Eve; from the same mother. How can that be? This questioned lingered in my head for years and never get to be answered, and yet I still search for answers. By using scientific rules, he said that it is “probable” that Adam and Eve where mid-tones or brownish in color to have offsprings with white skins, or darker skins and even lighter dark skins and somewhat darker light skins. This is just a posibility which he explained using genetics as his guide.

Another teacher in faith also explained another factor to which is why there are different colors, is because of the environment they are in. People living near the equator will of course be tanned skin, and those in the cooler climate will be light colored since there are less ultraviolet rays to make the skin darker. And as he points out that in a period of a thousand years, people on those parts will produce offsprings with ligther or darker skins.

After all the arguments and scientific facts he concluded that the term 'races' should not be used because there is only one race, which is the Human Race.

As I read before, if we only remove our skins, and remove all our racist divide, then we are all just the same.

How Connected We Are?

No man is an island, and yet some people prefer to live alone. Sometimes when we get out from work, we tend to retreat from the busyness of life. We pack food, clothing and flashlight and go to the remotest mountain, at the side of the waters and reflect. Scientists believe we are not alone. In some parts of the place in space, there must be something besides us. I see snapshots of people in other parts of the world and see people's faces, words, lives and somehow get rattled in our being. Even when we are sitting on a bench, listening to music, watching people and cars pass by, I never feel alone. As I see the sky above and the trees swaying with the wind, I believe that there is someone watching me. I'm living in my bedroom and yet I am connected; connected with lives in other countries, connected with the God that formed me. I have always someone to be with me no matter how alone I am. You may also too, if you say the words that restore the connection that has been severed since the fall of man. I know that He will listen.

A Fresh Year

2006 has never been a good year. As you could watch on the news of how many people have died because of the war, terrible storms, calamities and natural disasters, it's easier to think that it was never been a good year- well, maybe for some, but here in our country many lost their lives battling with the unforeseen future, and yet we have the capacity, yes, we have the capacity to make our lives better with the help of God. As the scriptures say that we must forget about the past and look ahead of what lies in front of us at the end where we reach our goal and that is life eternal.

No man could guarantee a better or happier life ahead, and the truth is life will never get any easier. Maybe in a short period like bliss but it will never last. And yet, I see people smiling, laughing and talking like as if tomorrow will be his blessing. Hope is what make us live a little longer and even a little further, and having that promise to have riches in our hearts despite poverty; happy despite sadness, and life despite deaths.

This is a year of another start. Let us stand up with what we have and learn to be better from past experiences. A better individual; a better family; a better society. Let's start with a clean start and do our best to do the right thing, and we shall always prevail in the name of the Lord. God Bless!
