Thursday

I was so bored at home, thinking what can I do to liven up the faces of my nephew and niece. Watching a movie came to me and we haven't seen Happy Feet (yeah, the penguins). It was hilarious and my niece keeps on looking at me when there was a funny scene and kept on smiling. Then we went to McDo to have dinner and treated them to a wonderful ride at the carousel, and they liked it. My nephew is quite alert, keeping guard of his younger sister like my right hand man for the mall job. Coming to the cinema, we saw traffic on the other side thinking of all the people coming home for Christmas to their loved ones, and spending time with them resting, laughing and singing songs of cheers and gladness. Looking at the lights twinkling like stars, shining up the dark. It was tiresome but a worthwhile Thursday.

Water from Thin Air

This invention is quite amazing! Imagine you could squeeze out water just from air? This contraption is awarded in Time magazine as one 2006 best invention of the year. First saw it here.

If this is possible, then we would know where did the water came from that caused the flood that engulfed the whole world.

Conflicts

It was raining almost all day, and I am enjoying the cool weather. On the other part of the country is another story. The reason for the rainy weather here in Manila is because there is a typhoon leaving the country tomorrow Monday. As I was reading the news and following on the trail of the typhoon, people died because of this nature's fury. Just weeks ago, more than a thousand people died and that is hurting. But, there is something to be glad about and that is the kindness of people not only here but around the world. People they never met or knew, but still lent a helping hand by giving aid to our poor country. I may never know the reason, but in everything there is a purpose. Yet, a part of me is glad that it did happen because it only proves that God does not permit unfaithfulness, disgust, hate of unbelieving and evil people. In the old testament, God did not spare the lives of men, women and children even livestock because of their pagan ways. Offering prayers to wood and stone and they call themselves children of God? Or, Christians? Who are they and what are they doing? Who would even care about a few people drowning to those who deserve it? People has ignored God's advice and they do not pay attention to his teachings about true worship, giving, love and they expect themselves to be saved? They are just cheating God! They are cheaters, human traffickers, corrupt, and lawless who only thinks about themselves. They are content on satisfying their own stomachs and care less about unfortunate people. I hope God is laughing now.

Who Knows?

I was browsing the web looking for new things I could think and wonder about and found an interesting video about the existence of God.

Since the beginning of time, there are people, especially in these times, that opposes the existence of God saying that well you might say about the Flying Spaghetti Monster idea. I also found this Flying Spaghetti Monster idea on the web and they say that well you may believe on it but is there really a Flying Spaghetti Monster? Of course there is no Flying Spaghetti Monster it's just a made-up concept just like the existence of God. Firstly, we need evidence to prove that God exists. We also need witnesses. If you will consider the Bible as evidence then we must believe to His existence. I can name Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Paul and the list goes on and on and on. According to the Bible that they heard God; they are what you can call first-hand witnesses to God's existence. Ok, what if the Bible is not true? What if It's just written by imaginative people like J.K. Rowlings can create? Of all the millions of fascinating, amazing books from fiction to science can it be that the Bible is just made-up like them? Then I would do everything I like good or bad since it isn't true. Then I saw the title of the You Tube video which says, "Scientific Proof God Exists prt-who-knows." The "who knows" bit made me think. If people are finding evidence IF there is God, then why can't somebody find evidence why God doesn't exist? Do you have evidence that God doesn't exist? I thought so. And, who knows, what IF God really exists?

Intelligence

The tsunami that brought havoc in Indonesia on Dec 2004, led to thinking ways to alert people on impending doom to soften the impact of these natural calamities. Now, in the news, scientists are boasting that they have a satellite that records data of unusual events happening on Earth. Read here. They say that the satellite is intelligent enough to make its decisions, but it led me to asking: "What is Intelligence?" Some say that well, it's programmed by humans and it will decide according to what it is programmed to do. Maybe intelligence is something that people deciding on their own without anyone telling them to. Yet, there are levels of intelligence.

I guess the bottom line here is that intelligence is a gift to be used for the good of man-kind, and it doesn't matter if someone is intelligent. There are people who are not that intelligent yet they are rich, and some people are very intelligent yet so poor. Well, it also doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, but what matters most is that you are a good person who is willing to help in times of these disasters.
